Gart Serif is a serif typeface rooted in the traditions of transitional serifs from the 18th century, combined with modern design solutions. Compared to other transitional serifs, Gart Serif stands out with its narrow proportions, distinct contrast, and subtle slant of the curves, which enhance its character while maintaining readability. Gart Serif is an ideal font pair for Gart Sans.

With its variety of weights, Gart Serif can have either an elegant look, evident in its light weight, or a bold and sturdy appearance in its heavier styles. The typeface is well-suited for both setting large amounts of text and shorter headlines. Gart Serif pairs excellently with Gart Sans.

Gart Serif consists of 10 styles, 642 glyphs, an true italic angle of 10°, basic Cyrillic and extended Latin, several stylistic sets, ligatures, numeral sets, and two variable fonts.

The update includes a 10° italic for each style, allowing more flexible use of the typeface; general contours and kerning have also been improved.

This typeface was designed by Vitalii Hotsaniuk in 2023 and updated in 2024.
