This typeface is based on the cbook overs and posters of the Ukrainian graphic designer Sviatoslav Hordynskyi, who worked in the 1920s. His work is influenced by German constructivism, which is reflected in the letterforms and monospaced strokes. The Hordyi font is not a revival of Hordynskyi's letters, but a modern reinterpretation inspired by the forms of computer code from the 80s of the last century. The letterforms are so versatile that they became the basis for the pictograms (man, horse, and dog) that make up the arrow symbol system. The Hordyi font balances on the edge of readability, which gives it a self-sufficient character in design. It can be used in minimalist designs of posters, book covers, logos, headlines, corporate identity, packaging and other types of graphic production. The font was designed by Anna Kovalenko in 2023.
