Font Classification:
Designed for the International Typeface Corporation in 1977 by Edward Benguiat. A roman face with exaggerated sharp serifs, ITC Benguiat shows a fairly strong Art Nouveau influence. The stress of the design is laid on the upper half of capitals and the midline shifts up. The face has a strong personality and thus should be used selectively. Serves well for text and display typography. Cyrillic version was developed for ParaType in 2001 by Vladimir Yefimov.
