The sketch of Joker has been drawn by Viktor Kharyk in 1978 as an experiment in creation of type by subtractive method. In 2000 the font has been digitized, modified and Hebrew, Greek, Georgian, Armenian and Arabiс alphabets and outline style were added. As a display face Joker allows to create decorative compositions, easily combining vertical and horizontal arrangements of words. The type looks great with its characters filled with images. It also creates ornamental effect in line, which is very appropriate for logotype design. What is more, Joker does well in small expressive advertising texts. Joker type family has won the 3-rd prize at TypeArt 2001 Cyrillic type design competition in Moscow. Licensed by ParaType in 2005.
